Demonstrated Competencies: Transcript Analysis (DCTA)

Only Administrator endorsements are available through transcript analysis:

The Demonstrated Competencies: Transcript Analysis (DCTA) pathway requires that ALL licensure standards (i.e., competencies) have been met through formal coursework documented on official transcripts from an accredited college or university. Professional experience or other forms of professional learning cannot be used to address content standards under this pathway. In addition to requisite coursework, applicants for licensure by transcript analysis must meet all additional endorsement-specific requirements including degree and educator experience as specified in the applicable licensure standards.

It is the nature of the educational administration career lattice that these endorsements have many competencies in common (Professional Administrator standards). For that reason it may be possible for an educator who has completed a program leading to one administrator license subsequently to qualify for an additional endorsement through the completion of targeted coursework rather than through the completion of an entire program. As stated above, specific degree and educator experience requirements still apply.

Process: Start by completing the applicable licensure standards-to-coursework crosswalk documents (found below) and save each as in PDF format. Please note that course titles will not necessarily match the licensure standard wording. If, after having completed the crosswalks, you believe you meet the requirements for licensure through this pathway please follow the Application Instructions.

An evaluator with the Bureau of Credentialing will review submitted documentation and may seek additional information from you and/or the institution to determine if the standards have been sufficiently met. If the review determines that one or more standards has not been met (or not sufficiently met) the applicant will have no more than 120 days from the date of analysis to provide proof the standard was met through previous coursework or to complete additional coursework which addresses the unmet standards. After that point the applicant would have to submit a new application and fee.

Review the requirements summary for Superintendent, Curriculum Administrator, Special Education Administrator and Principal.

The following documentation should be submitted via your myNHDOE/EIS/Educator account at the time of application if not already on file with the Bureau of Credentialing:

  • All relevant official college transcripts,

  • Employer verification of applicable work experience: educator experience used to qualify to utilize this pathway must have been in a jurisdiction that is subject to US education and special education laws and regulations. Such jurisdictions include any US state, US territories, and DoDEA schools,

  • Standards-to-coursework crosswalk document(s) applicable to the endorsement being sought,

  • Criminal History Record Check Clearance now required for First-Time Applicants:

Criminal History Record Check Clearance Instructions

  • If you previously held a NH educator license, which is currently expired, there are additional steps needed to apply for a new endorsement. Please use the instructions to Obtain a New Endorsement with an Expired License.
