Defines the school year for all schools in the district (start/end dates)
Includes the option to identify unique start/end dates for Pre-K, Kindergarten, and Seniors (grade 12)
Districts may identify one school within the district as the template for OOD reporting (ie, the start and end dates for that school will be used when reporting OOD placement students)
Pursuant to Ed 306.19, each school shall maintain a school calendar which will be used to calculate student membership.
Each district will also need to identify an in-district school's calendar, the dates of which will be used for the reporting of all students placed out of district.
Starting with 2024-2025 School year, all districts will report their calendars in hours. They may choose to meet instructional time compliance by indicating a daily or hourly calculation.
Summer calendars do not need to be reported.
Please note:
New Calendar Interface
District users have hopefully noticed the new CALENDAR tab on the Library screen, located to the right of the STUDENT LOOKUP tab. This Calendar Interface provides a visual representation of your district’s submitted school calendar(s), rather than depending on the datasheets downloaded through the Calendar, Calendar Blocking Days, or Calendar Sessions submission screens. If you haven’t had a chance to explore the new interface, please do! I have attached a PDF example of the Calendar Interface to this email.
We have turned off the School Annual Calendar tab in i4see to prevent districts from mistakenly editing calendar data in the old system instead of through iNHDEX. For districts that would like to review the calendar data they’d previously entered into i4see, NHED has created two reports:
Calendar Setup Report
Blocking Date Extract Report
Both reports can be accessed in i4see under REPORTING à DISTRICT BATCH VALIDATION à SUBMISSION TYPE: AOY Enrollment.
The CALENDAR SETUP REPORT provides the data included in each school calendar defined by the district prior to the February blackout period
The BLOCKING DATE EXTRACT REPORT allows districts to download their pre-defined blocking days in the correct CSV format for upload to iNHDEX.
This report is provided due to a coding error when the Blocking Days submission was ported to iNHDEX during the blackout period, when all school closures were mistakenly identified as 100% (full day) closures.
This report has been corrected to reflect actual percentage closures (e.g., 40%, 50%, 100%, etc)
If necessary, districts may download this file, update with any additional closures, and upload the resulting CSV to iNHDEX as Calendar Blocking Days.
Alma districts should make any updates to their calendars through their Alma SIS and cannot use uploads
