Intern Authorization Extension

The Administrative Rules authorize the extension of an Intern Authorization in certain circumstances.

 

Administrative Rule

The department, at the request of the senior educational official, shall grant an extension to the intern authorization period of not more than one year to accommodate an issue outside of the applicant’s control which prevents timely completion of the plan including, but not limited to:

a. Illness of the applicant or immediate member of the applicant’s family; and

b. Availability of a required course within the timeframe of the plan where no comparable course is available;

Process

Prepare request:

On official letterhead, dated and signed by the Senior Education Official, please provide the following information:

  • Full name and Ed ID of the SBLP candidate

  • Request for Intern Authorization extension

  • Rationale for the extension

  • Time period for the extension
