Foreign Exchange Students

Foreign Exchange Students

  • Any student attending public school in NH must be assigned a SASID, including foreign exchange students.

  • Foreign exchange students should always be reported as “parent paid” (town of responsibility 990, district of responsibility 930) in all enrollment reports.

  • Foreign exchange students should be reported with enrollment status 11 (if reporting through i4see) or 27 (if reporting through iNHDEX).

  • Foreign exchange students should be exited with a W14 (if reporting through i4see) or exit code 4 (if reporting through iNHDEX), whether they return to their home country before the end of the school year, or if they are reported as a summer withdrawal.

Foreign exchange students are not residents of New Hampshire and therefore are not eligible for adequacy aid. This is why they are not reported as the responsibility of any NH municipality or district.
