Home Education is an alternative to attendance at a public or private school and is an individualized form of instruction in accordance with Chapter 279:2, laws of 1990.

The Home School Academic submission should include homeschooled students participating in academic classes in the public school in grades 7-12.

  • A student's record in the Home School Academic should not overlap with that same student's enrollment record in the Enrollment submission.

  • Students participating in an EFA program are NOT considered homeschooled as of the start date for their EFA program.

  • Students enrolled in non-public schools shall not be submitted in the Home School Academic submission as they are not homeschooled students.

  • If there are no Homeschool students taking classes at your district, you will still need to submit and certify 0 records.

  • Students in the Home School Academic must not be actively enrolled in the Enrollment submission for the same period.

  • NOTE: Submission should be a single file including all schools in the district. Full load expected.

  • NOTE: This submission will be used for the distribution of adequacy aid for eligible homeschooled students participating in academics at the public school.

Instructions

  1. Only homeschooled students in grades 7-12 taking classes in a public school, need to be reported in the Home School Academic.

  2. A student's record in the Home School Academic should not overlap with that same student's enrollment record in the Enrollment submission.

  3. Students participating in an EFA program are not considered homeschooled as of the start date for their EFA program.

  4. If there are no Homeschool students taking classes at your district, you will still need to submit and certify 0 records.

  5. Students enrolled in non-public schools shall not be submitted in the home school academic submission as they are not homeschooled students.
