EXTENDED LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES: Data dictionary page link

Extended Learning Opportunities allow for the primary acquisition of knowledge and skills through instruction or study outside of the traditional classroom including, but not limited to: Independent study, Private instruction, Performing groups, Internships, Community service, Apprenticeships, and Online courses.

  • High schools should submit all students who have participated in an extended learning opportunity (ELO) this school year.

  • NOTE: Submission should be a single file including all schools in the district. Full load expected.

  • One record should be submitted for each ELO course that a student is attending. For example, students participating in three ELO courses should have three records included in the submission, etc. If you have no data to report, please certify that you have zero records.

  • Only students in public high schools. Districts are not required to report ELO participation for students in out-of-district or out-of-state placements. Homeschool students taking ELO classes can also be reported here.
