Step 1: Import .csv files to the test harness for first level validation check.
Use the test harness to check data for either all schools at once or individual schools, one at a time. Test for field and file validation errors.
Ensure that your extracts are within the range of the collection start and end dates.
MORE INFO:
PLEASE NOTE the following about the Test Harness field level validations:
No ability to submit to the state
Checks do not include file level (missing students, cross district) checks
Import one or all schools in your district
Step 2: Import Submission to State
MORE INFO:
When all schools have cleared validations, extract a single district-level report (including out-of-district students) to submit to iNHDEX, WITHOUT manually manipulating the file.
Examples of manually manipulating a file include:
Adding, removing, or moving columns;
Updating data values (e.g., changing an entry code from E1 to 1);
Adding records that could not be extracted with the rest of the file (e.g., out of district students in nonpublic placement);
Removing records that should not be included in the report (e.g., home school students in the Enrollment submission); or
Any other action that requires the district to open their extracted file and make corrections or updates to their data prior to uploading that file to the iNHDEX portal.
Manual file manipulation is resource-intensive and error-prone. Future submissions will be more frequent and API-driven. We suggest you work with your SIS vendor to eliminate manual data manipulation in order to use future API functionality. APIs will not be required, but are highly recommended in order to meet the demands of a more frequent submission cadence.
Step 3: Import Submission to State
MORE INFO:
Upload the single district-level file in iNHDEX and run through the validation engine. Once all validation errors have cleared, you are ready to submit once the submission window opens.
